Another Progressive Hypocrite

When I bristle against those who demonize the poor, am I just hedging my own bets?  I pray that I am not just another progressive hypocrite.  You know, I find things by which I can demonize others and remain self-satisfied.  For do I not demonize the poor with my actions?  What show of solidarity do I have to offer?  What way have I made my faith known with and through them?  Am I just talking a good game?  Convict me, Mother of Mercies.  May your real solidarity work through me so that I, too, can see your power manifest through them.  Then transform me.  Do not let sermons be empty platitudes or self-righteous judgments against others.  I know belief is
cheap.  Make my life real.  In the name of the Christ.  Amen.
