Today.  Today, you are needed.  We are off balance, reeling, and using violence to solve all of our problems.  Somewhere, somehow, hedge us.  Draw boundaries around us.  Do not let us do this violence in Iran.  Do not let us kill your daughter transformed.  A life for a life was meant to be a limit for us.  Not an encouragement.  And we seem to be racing toward taking life ad nauseam.  I know it makes me sick.  It is making all of us sick.  Benjamin needs to be transformed so he does not encourage violence.  Kelly already has been.  Save us from Benjamin.  Rise up in us to save Kelly.  Please put a hedge around us.  Violence is sin.  Wake us up to that.  Amen.

Genocide Begins with the Silence of the World

News comes that the first Israeli child was killed in this seven-week conflict.  Five hundred Palestinian children have been killed at the same time.  500!  Why does this continue, God of All Justice?  Where are you?  Why do you sit idly by and pretend that this about being "chosen" and "terrorist?"  Why are some deaths so precious and others so trivial?  Transform the hard-hearted.  Break open the heart of Prime Minister Netanyahu that he may hear the cries of children.  Should he not know?  Should he not mine the remembrance of his people to be different?  Hagar is weeping for her children and she will not be silenced.  What makes us all so callous to such suffering and death?  Where do we begin?  Amen.
