We Reap What We Sow

Almost all of California is in severe drought.  Guatemala is in such a severe drought that 16 of the 22 provinces are declaring a state of emergency.  The poorest of your poor will reap what the rich have sown.  And here I am . . . acting like I sympathize with the poor when I have too often reaped the benefits of what it means to live in the company of the rich.  Soften my heart.  Make it tender to the needs of your people.  Then make my will iron to build beloved community.  Hold back this suffering of your people.  They are not responsible.  And we must be.  In Christ's name.  Amen.
