Praying the News, September 1, 2014, Labor Day

We Are Not Slaves

I give thanks for the work you have given me, Industrious One.  I do not know how important it is that you are still speaking, but I know how often I need to be reminded that you are still working.  Mold and make my calling.  At the same time, give to me the necessary rest.  Let me lie back into the grace of rest and know that it is appointed for me.  May I experience a world full of that grace so that when I am called back to my vocation, I may work hard for those who have know rest.  None of us are appointed slaves without grace.  May this Labor Day ring within me so that I may be at good work and good rest. Amen.
